Transportation Advocacy
California’s extensive system of roads, highways, bridges and public transit is our economy’s backbone. Investment in transportation infrastructure helps boost our economy and sustain our quality of life. Dollars spent on roadways and more efficient travel create jobs, improve goods flow, and benefit our environment by reducing congestion and making our air cleaner.
Better roads also help save time and protect lives.
The California Alliance for Jobs advocates for a safe, reliable and adequately funded transportation network to meet the public’s needs. We support a wide range of public investments, including building and maintaining California’s highway system, local street, road, bicycle and pedestrian network, and funding service improvements to bus and rail lines.
The Alliance advises key decision-makers, helps craft long-range transportation plans, builds coalitions and organizes grassroots campaigns, and takes the lead in efforts to pass transportation finance measures at the local and state levels.
We organize labor and citizen coalitions, and serve as an information hub for key stakeholders about important transportation issues affecting California’s traveling public.
