In Spring 2002, the Alliance began intensifying its efforts to help secure funding for the repair, maintenance and expansion of Northern California's aged water and wastewater systems.

Our work includes:

• Supporting the revamping of the Hetchy-Hetchy system.
• Supporting construction of Cal-Fed capital improvement projects.
• Promoting water and sewer pipe replacement programs in cities and counties.
• Promoting construction of new water and wastewater treatment and transmission facilities.
• Promoting new water storage facilities and implementation of water recycling systems.
• Raising public consciousness about Northern California's water and wastewater needs through radio and the news media.
