Northern California District Council of Laborers
The purpose of the Laborers union is to raise the living standards of its members. Its prime concern is to have the safest, best educated, best-trained Laborers employed in the construction field. Construction laborers perform a multitude of tasks, including pipe laying, asphalt raking, landscaping, hazardous waste cleanup, drilling and concrete laying. Without training provided by the District Council at its San Ramon training center, Laborers would not be able to expertly and safely undertake tasks routinely demanded of construction workers. The district represents more than 25,000 members in Northern California. It was chartered through the Laborers International Union of North America.
