The California Alliance for Jobs represents more than 1,700 heavy and highway construction companies and some 50,000 union construction workers from Kern County to the Oregon border.
A unique partnership of three contractor associations and two labor unions, the Alliance strives to create construction jobs, improve the climate for public works investment and promote the value and benefits of unionized heavy construction.
Our highly skilled members build and maintain the core infrastructure that each and every one of us relies on day in and day out - the streets, highways, sidewalks, railways, bridges, tunnels, sewers, pipelines, dams, parks, stadiums and all the rest of civilization's foundation.
Without these products, these companies and these workers, our economy would stagnate. The fruit of our members' labor plays a key role in the production, transport and marketing of the goods and service that keep our economy thriving. Our industry generates jobs and revenues that help make California's trillion-dollar economy one of the 10 largest in the world.
Through a variety of programs, the Alliance is helping the heavy construction industry of Northern and Central California stay on the job of making our state a better place to live, a place where Californians can flourish and enjoy the quality of life they have come to value and expect.
