Voters overwhelmingly approve Prop 69

Supporters of Proposition 69 applauded voters for overwhelmingly passing Prop 69 which establishes strong constitutional protections to prohibit transportation funding from being used for non-transportation purposes. With only 16 percent of precincts reporting, Prop. 69 was leading 82 percent to 18 percent.

“The overwhelming passage of Prop 69 is proof that voters are sick and tired of bad roads in California and place a high priority on getting them fixed,” said Michael Quigley, Executive Director of the California Alliance for Jobs. “The partisan politicians who want to repeal transportation funding and eliminate thousands of transportation improvement projects do not have the best interests of California in mind.”
